The Real Criminal

It all started when Barry saw a bright blue car with a wailing siren dash past in seconds.  It was a day like any other but Barry did not realize that this day would lead him to an atrocious fate.  Bob the handyman gave Barry a wave.  Then Barry saw the town Inspector trudging towards him.
Inspector Sone questioned Barry. “There’s been a robbery in this district. Did you see anything?”
    Barry’s shoulders clenched.

Elsewhere, the police got two ‘unknown’ calls accusing Barry of the robbery.  The Inspector just briefly looked at the evidence and felt it was probably Barry so he planned his arrest. The police swiftly transferred Barry to jail.  Barry surrendered himself but inside, he wanted to escape because he was innocent. He knew his destiny would not be easy.  He must find out who framed him.

Prison life was as far from exciting as it gets.  Barry, only equipped with his laser torch and mini laptop, looked around the empty cell for an exit.  The answer to his woe was a poster behind him, it said: ‘Prison Field Trip Tomorrow’.  Barry had to make preparations.

The next day, the bus was waiting for the criminals to board.  Barry lasered the driver, which made the driver visionless.  After that, Barry escaped subtly into the bushes.  Then he saw a house and outside there was a person with a balaclava on, holding a case. As his suspicions grew, he decided to ambush the mystery person and the culprit dropped the case and Barry saw the stolen money. Barry was shocked to his teeth. Though to Barry’s astonishment, the robber took off the balaclava and produced a gun.

“Bob?” exclaimed Barry in amazement.  The friendly handyman wasn’t as kind as he looked.   Suddenly, Bob fired and the bullet came plunging into Barry’s stomach.  He was feeling as injured as a solider being tortured.  Barry’s blood was rapidly streaming out of his wounds. He was in absolute agony, and then Bob menacingly walked over to him.  He stuck tape over Barry’s mouth.  Barry wounds seemed to bleed even quicker as the seconds ticked, yet bravely he managed to laser Bob, who screamed like a wild monkey but managed to stumble into his car. Barry feebly reached for his laptop then emailed the Inspector.

Meanwhile the Inspector received the email and drove to the prison.  He saw the field trip poster and left to the location.  Barry groaned with his dying breath and the Inspector sped over to Barry’s battered body.  It was too late, Barry’s pulse was silenced and his end had met him.

The next day justice was served and Bob was given a life sentence and the money was placed in Barry’s grave.

Gordon Brown decided the plans for the construction of Heathrow’s terminal 6 and third runaway should go ahead. It has not had it’s final approval yet, due to many enviromental concerns, such as pollution and noise from the planes and the destruction of farmland. The agreement to the enlargement of Heathrow could see another 22,000 more flights in and out of the London airport. More than 50 Labour MPs are outraged by the fact that someone from their own party could do such a thing as to agree to this polluted idea. Though the Conservatives don’t really have an opinion that is sided on this particular subject.

I personally think that the government should get terminal 5 functioning properly before they worry about building of another terminal or else there will be 2 six million dollar structures just left abandoned and wasted. Although, I think Heathrow does need another terminal because the other ones are at their full capacity. Maybe, Heathrow could use terminal 6 for private jets, to get them away from the public.

Heathrow is the biggest and most international airport in the world. The airport is in West London and can be got to by taxi, train and by the airport bus. The cheapest and most convenient form of transport to get straight to the city of London is the train.

Between 17th November 2008 – 23rd November 2008, I want on a China trip to Yangshou. I am writing to you about my experiences and my opinion of these things that occurred on the trip.

Moon Hill Race

As soon as we saw the steps leading up to the top, the race up the wondrous moon hill began. The challenge was to be the first up the moon shaped hill. I was really in the top 10 and really quick in the first 5 minutes but then I slowed down and ended the race in 13th place out of a humongous party of 80 people. I really enjoyed the marathon because it really made me motivated to be quicker because I knew it was a competitive competition. Although, I disliked the fact that the sellers selling postcards and beverages following us to the top were stiff on prices, so I couldn’t buy a drink. That was the case because I had 2 Yuan left in my wallet due to the fact that I had spent my daily budget sadly, the drink costed 3 Yuan. I was really disappointed that I couldn’t but the drink which was a lovely cold can of sprite and also because I had forgot to remember my water bottle and the hike was tiring. I had left it in my Reebok bag on the bus. Overall I think it was a fantastic country hike.

Paradesa hotel/Meals

Our accommodation was a hotel, called the Paradesa Hotel and it was a 4 star luxury resort. I liked the hotel buffet because the pancakes for breakfast were scrumptious. It started at 8:00 and ended at 10:00. One morning I was so hungry I managed to scuff down 5 pancakes! My favorite part about the hotel was the fact that the teachers gave us lots of independence and free time. Also they trusted us to look after our own room key. In the lobby I was being my usual nosey self and I read a sign which showed the prices per night for the rooms in the Paradesa hotel. The most expensive room was named the presidential suite and was 6000 Yuan per night. I think Mr. Mac; our deputy principle was staying in one of them. According to the list, I think me and my friend were staying in a economy room. I liked our room because it had a fridge to store our candy. Which were airheads, nerds and other wonka candy. Also it had an adequate toilet and a pretty good shower for a Chinese hotel. The buffet dinner at the hotel had some Western food and some Asian. I was very fussy so I only had spaghetti bolognaise and chips.

The logo of the Paradesa Hotel was a very beautiful lotus flower, which I think is a very good choice for a hotel logo because it makes the hotel seen like paradise.

Hoping School

The Hoping School was 30 minutes away from our hotel, and we brought presents to give to the children who aren’t so well off as the rest of us. After that I played Piggy in the Middle which was pretty fun because of the little kid who tried his best to catch the ball. I was really happy when he caught it because he was only around 5 years old. I felt sorry for them, for the conditions they worked in were shocking. They had blackboards instead of whiteboards, the walls were dirty instead of clean and germs were everywhere!

Shopping

Going shopping on the ever popular West Street was fantastic because I got to bargain and I like bargaining because I have to raise my voice to get an adequate price and I love to raise my voice because it makes me feel superior and a bit like the king of the world. I really was happy with the quantity of Yuan that we were allowed to bring, which was 200. I think I think that was the perfect amount. Someone in my group dropped an item and broke it and them the angry shopkeeper made him pay for it. Prices ranged from 2 Yuan-200 Yuan but in my opinion the average price for products was 10 Yuan. The products were rare and unique at every shop. They ranged from flowers to funky handbags. My favorite and most common two bargaining words I used in mandarin were ‘tai ge le!’That means too expensive! ‘Ling kuai’ that means 0 Yuan, every time I said ling kuai, the shopkeepers were in hysterics. When I didn’t want something I would shout ling kuai to have a laugh. Personally for me the shopping was one of the best parts of the trip.

England’s Success

By tinselholland8

On Saturday 11 October England played a fifa 2010 world cup qualifier. The final score was 5-1 to England. Fans were booing off Ashley Cole after he failed to tackle the Kazakhsanian who got the ball past keeper David James and scored the first and only goal for Kazakhstan in the whole match. The manager for England was the Italian Fabio Capello. The match was played in Wembley, England. Rio Ferdinand captained England for the game. In the first half no team managed to score a goal but there were close attempts on goal. It makes me think, that probably Fabio Capello gave an amazing team talk to the England players at half time! England have won a world cup in 1966 which was held in England. This was the only time England ever made it to a World Cup final. Though England, mostly make it to major international competitions.

I found this match vital for England’s mission to go through the qualifiers and into the World Cup. As an England supporter I think the score is great but I think England need to try to have a stronger defence. Next match I hope and expect that England will not concede a goal. I think the amount England scored was huge and I think that England have improved loads after failing to be in the top 2 in their qualifier’s group and not getting to play in the 2008 European Cup. I think England have made a great start to their group and are top of the table. I think this game was action packed with many goals, saves and tackles.

England’s population is 60,776,238 and the capital is London. England is located in Europe and has a monarch who is Queen Elizabeth the second. England is a beautiful place with many medieval castles and houses. England’s flag is red and white.

On the 8th of October my school arranged for the whole of Y6 to go to the wetlands park. By the way I didn’t go to the wetlands park for fun, I went there because our new science topic is habitats and adaptations. To get there we had to go by bus, the bus journey was around 50-60 minutes but I think it was worth the long ride.

Then when we got there, all the students received their own ticket to enter and were told to keep it some- where safe to insure that we don’t lose it. Next we walked into a room and were given headphones which could listen to the tourguide’s voice only. We were given these instead of her just  shouting across the marsh because she did not want to disturb the animals in the wetland habitat. My tour guide was called Angel.

On my way walking around some wetland habitats I noticed that there are many forms of wetland habitats, they go from beaches to bamboo trees. I also liked seeing the fiddler crab because I think it is a very interesting animal. The fiddler crab’s habitat is a mangrove, also the fiddler crab has it’s huge claw for catching food and attracting females. One of the differences between female fiddler crabs and male fiddler crabs is that the colour of female fiddler crabs are black and male fiddler crabs are orange.
